Saturday, April 17, 2010 Festival Attractions|Important Information and Inclement Weather|Volunteering|Directions The kites of the Kansas City Kite Club will take flight over the lawn of the picturesque MCC-Longview campus in the heart of kite month, with awe-inspiring mega kites, power kites, stunt kites, and more including the world’s largest windsock – three stories high and 200 feet long! Especially for the kids, Flights of Fancy will feature kite making, an inflatable maze, face painting, a balloon artist and a candy drop. New in 2010, as guests enjoy the power and beauty of the kites, Flights of Fancy will include attractions on green energy and wind power, and an actual wind turbine head from The Energy Savings Store, measuring 12 feet across. Festival-goers are welcome to bring their own kites to fly or sit back and enjoy the show. Chicago Kite Company will have an impressive selection of kites for sale. 2010 food vendors include Nadler’s, Mr.
Goodcents , Poppy’s
Ice Cream, and KC Poppers kettle corn. Enjoy barbeque, hamburgers,
hot dogs, sandwiches, ice cream, kettle corn and more, available for
purchase at Flights of Fancy. Inclement Weather Safety Parking MCC-Longview Flights of Fancy welcomes community
